33 S3.x Workers Arrested At Pokuase

Thirty three (33) commercial s£x workers has been arrested by the police after a dawn operation at Pokuase.

According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge, Head of the Command’s Public Affairs Unit,at Timber market in Pokuase a five-hour operation took place.

The said operation was carried out in coordination with Ga North and West Immigration agents, NADMO employees, and a task team from the Ga North Municipal Assembly, with police from the Amasaman Divisional Headquarters and Adjen Kotoku District assisting them.

After information was received about the commercial s£x workers, their unlicensed homes which had drug dealers criminals, and kids exploited for sexual exploitation have been destroyed.

Wooden structures in the area believed to be inhabited by these sex workers have been demolished by the authorities.
Most of these sex workers are Nigerians with a few Ghanaians according to reports.

The suspects will be vetted, with the foreigners being handed over to the Immigration Service for deportation, while the others would be probed and brought before the courts if found guilty, according to DSP Tenge.
