Arthur “T-Boy” Ross was born on February 28, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan to Ernestine (née Moten; January 27, 1916 – October 9, 1984) and Fred Ross, Sr. (July 4, 1920 – November 21, 2007). He is among the children of his parents and was raised alongside his siblings.
Arthur Ross has sisters: Barbara Ross, Diana Ross, and Rita Ross, and brothers: Fred Ross, Jr., Wilbert Ross, and Chico Ross. He was a singer and songwriter for Motown. As his sister Diana established herself as a solo artist, she recruited him to Motown as an appointed songwriter in 1972.

Arthur Ross has collaborations with songwriter Leon Ware and they wrote hits for several artists such as Michael Jackson, The Miracles, and Marvin Gaye. Among the hits were the Top 20 “I Wanna Be Where You Are” and “I Want You”. He wanted to work as a solo artist. He retired from music in the early 1980s.
Arthur Ross opted to live in seclusion from everyone including family members. His work continues to be covered, “I Want You” has been covered by the late Robert Palmer, Madonna, Michael McDonald, and even Diana Ross herself on her 2007 album I Love You.

Arthur Ross’ sole rare album on Motown, Changes, was finally released on CD in August 2012. The album opens with his most covered song, “I Want You” and closes with another self-penned song “To the Baby”, which he wrote for Diana, a long-delayed tribute to her first two daughters.
Arthur Ross was known for Broken Flowers (2005), Drumline (2002), and Love & Basketball (2000), per his IMDb profile. He was a married man. He was married to Patricia Robinson. The couple was married in 1995 until they both passed away. Arthur was the father of Arthur Micah Ross II.

How Did Diana Ross’ Brother Die?
Arthur “T-Boy” Ross and his spouse Patricia Ann Robinson’s dead bodies were discovered by the police during the weekend of June 22–23, 1996. Their bodies were decaying in a basement inside a dilapidated home in Oak Park, Michigan, a suburb bordering Detroit, known for its homicides and violent crime.
According to reports, Arthur Ross and his wife were bound and gagged and died of suffocation. Per the coroner’s estimate, their bodies had been in the home for several days to a week. The date of their deaths was cited as May 30, 1996. Arthur was 47 while his beloved wife was 54 years old. Their families didn’t file a missing person report.

They were discovered after the police responded to a neighbor’s complaint of a foul odor coming from the two-bedroom ranch home. Arthur Ross was supposed to make an appearance in a downtown Detroit courtroom on June 26, 1996, at a hearing on three charges of possessing a controlled substance.
Arthur Ross had been arrested in possession of a loaded 9mm semiautomatic pistol, and small quantities of marijuana, heroin, and cocaine. Per sources, his sister Diana Ross didn’t attend his funeral.
