Aurelia Schwarzenegger was born on 29 July 1922. She is the daughter of August Jadrny. Aurelia (née Jadrny) was a private person who didn’t reveal much about herself. Details of her early life are few on the internet. She became a homemaker after she got married to Gustav Schwarzenegger.

Gustav Schwarzenegger was an Austrian police chief (Gendarmeriekommandant), postal inspector, member of the Sturmabteilung (SA), and military police officer. War widow Aurelia and Gustav got married on 5 October 1945, in Mürzsteg, Steiermark, Austria.

At the time, Aurelia was 23 and Gustav was 38 years old. The pair gave birth to two children, two sons. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Meinhard Schwarzenegger are their children. Unfortunately, Meinhard was killed in a car accident while driving alone drunk on a mountain road on 20 May 1971.

Growing up, Arnold Schwarzenegger was his father’s least favorite. For some reason, Gustav preferred his elder son, Meinhard, over Arnold. His favoritism was referred to as “strong and blatant”. According to Arnold, his father had “no patience for listening or understanding your problems”.

Arnold Schwarzenegger suffered child abuse at the hands of his father. He once revealed that: “My hair was pulled. I was hit with belts. So was the kid next door. It was just the way it was. Many of the children I’ve seen were broken by their parents, which was the German-Austrian mentality. They didn’t want to create an individual. It was all about conforming.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s mother Aurelia Schwarzenegger died on 2 August 1998, at age 76, in Weiz, Weiz Bezirk, Styria (Steiermark), Austria. She reportedly suffered a fatal heart attack while visiting her husband’s grave. She frequently visited her husband’s grave, at the Weiz Cemetery.

Aurelia Schwarzenegger collapsed during her visit and was rushed to the hospital but efforts to revive her failed. She is buried next to her husband Gustav Schwarzenegger. Most recently during Christmas on DECEMBER 26, 2022, Aurelia’s son Arnold shared a photo of his mother by a Christmas tree on his Instagram account.

On what was supposed to be Aurelia Schwarzenegger’s 100th birthday, her son Arnold wrote a lovely message to his mother on his Instagram account. He displayed various photos of some mother and son moments he shared with his beloved mother. He revealed that his mother Aurelia Schwarzenegger was the best mother and he will always love her.

The caption read: ‘Today my mother, Aurelia, would have turned 100. She was the best mother you can imagine and I’ll always love her. I can’t explain how much she meant to me, but she is the number one reason I won’t call myself self-made. She showed me unconditional love, the importance of keeping my house clean, how to make the perfect schnitzel, and patience. A lot of patience. Make sure to tell your mothers how much they mean to you!’
