Finally after Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were banned from participating in the awards scheme, Charterhouse has officially lifted the ban on both singers.
Earlier there were speculations that Charterhouse will lift the ban on both singers.
The two giant artiste, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy got banned from the awards scheme in 2019,when they caused commotion during the awards night.
In a press release on February 12, 2021, it was made clear that the decision to lift the ban was taken at the inaugural meeting of the 22nd VGMA Board on the 28th of January 2021.
The statement reads,
“The Board agreed to admit them back to the scheme, hoping that such altercations that bring the scheme into disrepute, do not occur in future events.
This makes them eligible to participate in this and subsequent editions of the VGMA, if they so desire. By extension, their collaborative works with other artistes are eligible for participation in the VGMA.”.
