It hasn’t been long when Sky News described Ghana as the world’s poorest people following the free distribution of the 600,000 doses of COVAX under the World Health Organization program.
Following Sky News announcing in a tweet the arrival of the vaccine in Accra and describing the entire country as the “world’s poorest people”, Ghanaians and some other Africans have collectively reacted expressing their anger and disappointment at an international news portal’s description of Ghana as “world’s poorest people”.
Ghanaian International gospel musician Sonnie Badu has also shared his views on the issue.
Sonnie Badu is a UK-based Ghanaian gospel artist, philanthropist, author, and television presenter who has won multiple awards and special recognitions.
Sonnie Badu has blamed the government for the bad publicist the country is earning via a tweet from the international media, Sky News.
However, Sonnie Badu has asked Ghanaians to express their frustration on their ‘bad government’.
“Maybe that is how leaders from Ghana presented the situation, to the international donors to enable them to get the corona vaccine free,” he said in response to a ace broadcaster, Abieku Santana’s post to disapprove with Sky News.
