16-year-old boy, Maxwell has transformed his life whiles serving prison time in the walls of Kumasi Central Prison.
Maxwell was convicted to a seven-year prison term for defilement though he strongly insists the sex was consensual between him and the 16yr old girl.
After several interviews with crime check Ghana in prison then, Maxwell said he was 16. If that is true, he shouldn’t have been kept at a walled prison where all sorts of vagabonds and hardened criminals are kept which could have affected him.
He should have been sent to a Senior Correctional Centre, but he claims the policeman inflated his age. His new age then was given as 18.
According to the leader of Crime check Ghana, he said; “I saw him last week looking so good in prison. I was shocked because I was expecting to see a shabby-looking Maxwell.
He was not only looking good but Maxwell had become a prison pastor at the Kumasi Central Prison. His mother is dead whiles he is still serving his terms, but not even the death of his mother could deflate the young man’s desire to keep a strong relationship with God. Could his imprisonment be described as an act of God?
