Following in her father’s footsteps, Camilla Al-Fayed is a businesswoman. Per Forbes Middle East, Camilla is fashioning her own legacy as chairwoman and 51% shareholder of Brazilian fashion brand, Issa, with ambitions of global proportions, a deal she did in 2011.

Though the financial information remains closely guarded, the businesswoman said-“When I acquired the controlling stake of Issa, the business had annualized revenues of circa 5 million ($7.57 million); and simply through improving business processes and the way we deal with our customers, that number is now circa 10 million ($15.14 million)“- the outlet reported.

Camilla who also worked at Vogue, explains it was love at first sight when she came face-to-face with Issa’s first collection. But her enthusiasm for the Brazilian brand is matched by a business sense reminiscent of her father. “I wouldnt be investing in the sector if I didnt think the underlying fundamentals were solid and likely to deliver an attractive return“- she said. Camilla Al-Fayed is a married woman. She is married to Syrian-born property developer, Mohamad Esreb. The couple are parents of a daughter and son, Luna and Numair. “I met my husband in a nightclub in London when I was 18,” she told thenationalnews. “It feels like a totally different paradigm, the idea of being in a closed space with so many people, of clubbing in general.

Camilla Feels connected to her Egyptian Heritage

Though she was born and raised in the UK where her family still resides, Camilla Al-Fayed has not forgotten her roots, she grew up with a strong sense of identity. “I feel very close to my Egyptian roots because of my Fatherhes never lost touch with his culture, even having lived outside of Egypt for so long“, she explains.

Camilla and her youngest brother Omar had a misunderstanding. Per Dailymail, Omar claims that his sister and her husband orchestrated an assault on him at the family estate. The misunderstanding spiraled into a £100,000 high court battle that includes disputed accusations of drug taking and theft. Omar accuses his sister of stealing his phone – along with the sensitive business information on it. Camilla also accuses her brother of being a heavy drug user, which he strenuously denies. A judge has implored the siblings to sort out the matter privately. Thus far, there seems to be no end in sight.

She is an important link in her father’s Charity Organization

The Al Fayed Charitable Foundation was set up by her father in 1987 with a focus on improving the quality of life for children afflicted by life-threatening illnesses or poverty. Talking about the foundation, she said-“I began visiting hospitals and hospices with my dad when I was a teenager. It left a profound effect on me at a young age, encouraging me to assume a more active role as I grew up“- Per forbesmiddleeast. Camilla was 12 when her brother Dodi Fayed died

Camilla Fayed was 12 years old when her brother Dodi Fayed was killed in a car accident at the Pont de l’Alma underpass in Paris. Diana, Princess of Wales, his girlfriend of only a few months, died from her injuries later that night. Her brother was pronounced dead at the scene on his removal from the wreckage. Her father erected two memorials to Dodi and Diana at Harrods.
