A Police personnel stabbed a civilian to death at Aterchem, a suburb of Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality in the Central region of Ghana.
The Community Police Personnel was spotted in a CCTV camera stabbing a thirty year old Collins Dorman to death.
Collins Dorman who was popularly known as Cheif, is a civilian at Aterchem.
Collins Dorman was murdered around 7:30pm to 8:00pm in the evening in his own house.
According to reports, there was a misunderstanding between the police personnel and a friend of Collins Dorman over electricity bills. They both stay in the same house.
Collins, went on to report the issue to the superiors of the community police personnel to remedy the issue.
The approach angered the suspect who threatened to “deal” with him for informing his superiors.
The police personnel went to the residence of Collins, the deceased where struggle occurred resulting in the stabbing incident, a police source confirmed after obtaining a CCTV camera evidence.
He was stabbed thrice on his neck, back and head .
He was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Mark Hospital at Dunkwa-on-Offin.
Yaa Safoa, the mother of the deceased confirmed the incident in an interview describing it as disheartening and shocking.
Some of the residents burnt tyres when they heard the news.
The case has been reported to Dunkwa Divisional Police Command for Investigation.
The police personnel has since been on the run, the police stated.
The Police in Upper Denkyira East District of the Central Region are on a manhunt for the community police personnel.
The body of the deceased has been deposit at Dunkwa St mark hospital morgue for autopsy.
