Following in the footsteps of his famous father Daniel Stewart is an actor. Patrick revealed he was “horrified” when he learned his son wanted to follow in his footsteps to become an actor. He was seen in the 1986 mini-series Shaka Zulu. Daniel is known for playing Batai (the son of the character played by his father, Patrick Stewart) in the Star Trek: The Next Generation fifth season episode “The Inner Light”. He even received special thanks in the end credits of the 2011 Star Trek documentary The Captains.
Patrick Stewart’s son worked with him for a second time in the 1993 television movie Death Train. Since then, Daniel has made appearances on Space: Above and Beyond (1995, with John Lendale Bennett, Lanei Chapman, Robin Curtis, Michael Harney, and Mark Lentry), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2001, with Armand Schultz), and Without a Trace (2006, starring Enrique Murciano).
The father-son duo also appeared together in Blunt Talk, a sitcom airing on Starz from 2015 to 2016. And while Patrick Stewart’s son has joined his father in several films and television appearances, the actor has made it clear that he does not count on his dad to help him snag roles.

”It’s taken me until now to walk into a rehearsal room and be accepted in my own right without being Pat Stewart’s son,” Daniel Stewart revealed in an April 2012 interview with Metro U.K. “You want to be recognized for your own talents, not just because you’re the son of someone famous. I tried to be more professional than anyone else, to not be late, not mess around, because I didn’t want people to say, ‘He’s the slacker son of so-and-so because I’ve met people who have got by hanging on to the coattails of a famous relative.’”
Patrick expressed regret at not having been available to his children.
Daniel Stewart’s parents called their marriage a quit after 22 years together in 1990 after he cheated with actress Jessica Hetrick, the Mirror reported. He replied: “It was. Given that I’m separated from my children now, – we don’t have relationships – they have become very important. I never thought that this would happen, but both my children are in their 50s – they’re not children anymore, they’re adults. And my relationship with them is practically non-existent“.
He went on to say- “I always put my acting work first, before my family. I could’ve done better as a parent, when my kids were little. I was just obsessed with my work and everything else took second place. I’m trying to correct that now wherever possible with my grandchildren [he has four]. And my own children seem to have forgiven me.”
