Deed Abbate is popular as the wife of famous musician Duane Eddy. Before Abbate, the singer was married to singer Jessi Colter in 1961. That same year he signed a three-year contract with Paul Anka’s production company, Camy, whose recordings were issued by RCA Victor. The couple first met in Phoenix. He produced her first record, and she toured with him. Colter and Eddy have a daughter Jennifer Eddy.

Eddy was born in Corning in 1938, and had a string of hits in the late 1950s and early 60s, including  “Rebel Rouser,” “Peter Gunn,” and “Forty Miles of Bad Road.” He was best known for his “twangy” guitar sound. Eddy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, and in 2008 he was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. As of 2023, Eddy is 85 years old but not much is known about the age of his wife.

Talking about how it all started the singer said in an interview according to his IMDB page– “My dad had an old guitar and he showed me two or three chords, so I practiced them and sang to try to emulate my cowboy heroes Gene Autry and Roy Rogers. Then, when I was about ten or 11, I learned that you could play “up the neck”, so that kept me busy for another couple of years.“
