Eden Alpert: Inside the Life of Herb Alpert’s Daughter

Eden Alpert is the daughter of iconic musician, executive, artist, and philanthropist Herb Alpert. Eden Alpert’s father led the band Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass in the 1960s. During the same decade, he co-founded A&M Records with Jerry Moss. Alpert has recorded 28 albums that have landed on the Billboard 200 chart, five of which became No. 1 albums; he has had 14 platinum albums and 15 gold albums. Alpert is one of only two musicians to hit No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 as both a vocalist (“This Guy’s in Love with You”, 1968) and an instrumentalist (“Rise”, 1979). Eden Alpert was born in 1966 in the United States of America. As of 2023, she is 57 years old as of 2023. She is the daughter of  Herb Alpert and his first wife Sharon Mae Lubin. Eden is the second child of the couple. She has an elder sibling – Dore Alpert and a half-sister Aria Alpert from her father’s second marriage. She is a native of the west side of Los Angeles. 

Eden was raised in and around the music industry musicians [went on tours with her father], she revealed one of her first jobs was with a music publishing company. She studied at FIDM in Los Angeles before moving to Chicago where she earned her degree in fashion and also got a job working at California Pizza Kitchen.

Eden Alpert works in the restaurant business

Eden is a partner at Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Grill & Jazz she told Focusmag. When her father realized his vision of opening a place where local musicians could perform and also have wonderful food, a sexy warm ambiance with the absolute best acoustics she was the go-to person since she already had some experience working in the restaurant business. Their restaurant, Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Grill & Jazz is located in Bel Air. She told Voyagela, when the restaurant opened, she was the hostess.

She told Voyagela-“When the doors opened, I was the hostess. One night my father pulled me aside and told me that he loved the way I worked the room and made every guest feel like a VIP. It was then that he asked me to be his managing partner. My love of the restaurant business, combined with my love of music makes this truly my happy place.“

Though the restaurant business is filled with challenges and consistent obstacles, sixteen years later, Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Grill & Jazz is the premiere live music supper club in Los Angeles. Throughout the years, their stage has been then used by many famous musicians including Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett, Sea, John Mayer, Tom Jones, and even her father Herb Alpert.

Describing what she helped build, Herb Alpert’s daughter Eden Alpert said- “The space was just gorgeous. We built a completely new restaurant and performance space and dressed it with trees, a beautiful lighting design, and topped it off with an Air Stream bar.” The restaurant is not the only thing she has built- Eden has a family – a wonderful husband, Brian, and a daughter Kylie.

Aside from the restaurant business and music, Eden Alpert revealed she is absolutely passionate about philanthropy, specifically dedicated to cancer research, health, education, and family services. She told Voyagela in their interview- “I sit on four non-profit boards: the Concern Foundation, Vista Del Mar, OmniPeace Foundation and the Alesia Alpert Foundation. I was raised that if you have the means, you must give back. If I can make one small difference before I leave this planet, I will feel like I’ve truly accomplished my mission — a mission passed on me by my father.“
