Elizabeth Moon is the ex-wife of Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist Gordon Lightfoot. Elizabeth Moon’s husband is credited with helping to define the folk-pop sound of the 1960s and 1970s. His songs, including “For Lovin’ Me”, “Early Morning Rain”, “Steel Rail Blues”, “Ribbon of Darkness”—a number one hit on the U.S. country chart in 1965.

Before Elizabeth Moon, Lightfoot was married to a Swedish woman, Brita Ingegerd Olaisson with whom he had two children, Fred and Ingrid. They divorced in 1973, the marriage ending in part because of his infidelity. Before settling down with Moo, Gordon Lightfoot was in other relationships. He was unmarried for about 16 years. He has two other children from those relationships between his first and second marriages: Gaylen McGee and Eric Lightfoot.

In 1989, the legendary Canadian singer married his second wife Elizabeth Moon. The two lovers tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony in the presence of their friends, families, and loved ones. Their union produced two children: Miles and Meredith. 

Elizabeth Moon pushed her husband Lightfoot to move out of the city centre and sell his old Rosedale mansion, which had turrets and ghosts, and guests that included the young Bob Dylan. “I loved that house,” says Lightfoot. “But I was asked to move and I moved. I got outvoted.”

They divorced in 2011 after a separation that Lightfoot said had lasted nine years. Moon and Lightfoot separated in 2003. The reason behind their marriage coming to an end was not made known to the public. The couple were married for more than two decades. “I would have stayed married,” Lightlight said about his marriage. “I would have seen it right through to the end. Making a change like that at my age requires a lot of thought.”

After their marriage came to end, Moon once again went totally out of the highlight. Though she is the ex-wife of a legendary singer, Moon preferred being private and away from the cameras. She has not made any news or headlines in recent years. It is clear where exactly Moon is as of now.

While it is unclear if Elizabeth Moon married again, her ex-husband, on the other hand, tied the knot for a third time on December 19, 2014, at Rosedale United Church to Kim Hasse. He has also been doing his best to stay in shape in order to meet the demands of touring and also to be able to perform. He use to work out in a gym six days per week, but declared in 2012 that he was “fully prepared to go whenever I’m taken.” He calmly stated, “I’ve been almost dead a couple of times, once almost for real … I have more incentive to continue now because I feel I’m on borrowed time, in terms of age.”
