Although Griselda Blanco was a notorious drug lord, she had parents just like everyone else. She was the daughter of Fernando Blanco and Ana Lucía Restrepo. Fernando was not involved in his daughter’s life as Ana raised Griselda as a single parent. No information regarding Fernando’s childhood, parents, and relatives is available.
According to a source, Ana Lucía Restrepo became pregnant by a powerful landowner she was working for, believed to be Fernando Blanco. After Ana informed him of their child he kicked her out. Ana gave birth to Griselda Blanco Restrepo on February 14, 1943, in Cartagena, Bolívar, Colombia. Ana and Griselda moved to Medellín.

Moving to Medellín exposed Griselda Blanco to a criminal lifestyle at an early age. At age 11, Griselda committed her first murder. She allegedly kidnapped, attempted to ransom, and eventually shot a child from an upscale flatland neighborhood near her neighborhood. She became a pickpocket and later a prostitute.
Griselda reportedly had to leave home because of the sexual assaults she faced by her mother’s boyfriend. Griselda turned into a drug lord. She was prominent in the cocaine-based drug trade and underworld of Miami, Florida, during the 1970s through the early 2000s. She was a figure in the drug trade from Colombia to Miami, New York, and California.
Fernando Blanco’s daughter Griselda participated in drug-related violence known as the Miami Drug War or the Cocaine Cowboy Wars that plagued Miami in the late 1970s and early 1980s. She was allegedly part of the Medellín Cartel. The Medellín Cartel is considered to be a powerful and highly organized Colombian drug cartel and terrorist organization.

Originating in the city of Medellín, Colombia, the Medellín Cartel was founded and led by “the king of cocaine” Pablo Escobar, one of the wealthiest criminals in history. Griselda was responsible for the deaths of several people including the men she married. She is said to have killed her first husband, Carlos Trujillo after they got divorced.
Griselda Blanco had Carlos killed over a business dispute. They had three sons, Uber Trujillo, Dixon Trujillo, and Osvaldo Trujillo. Griselda is said to have also killed her second husband, Alberto Bravo, a cocaine dealer. She had suspected that Alberto was stealing from their business and killed him. Griselda again paid to have her third husband, Darío Sepúlveda assassinated.

Griselda and Darío had a son Michael Corleone Blanco. Griselda was nicknamed “The Black Widow” because she killed the men she was married to. Fernando Blanco’s daughter Griselda Blanco was arrested by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), in February 1985. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison on drug trafficking charges and was released on June 6, 2004, and deported back to her native Colombia. She lived a quiet life. She is said to have been a born-again Christian.
