Priscilla Anne Presley was the wife of Elvis Presley. She is the former wife of American singer Elvis Presley. Her alternative names are Priscilla Wagner, Priscilla Beaulieu, and Priscilla Beaulieu Presley. Priscilla was born at Brooklyn Naval Hospital in Brooklyn on May 24, 1945.
Priscilla’s father was a US Navy pilot called James Wagner. Her mother is Anna Lillian Iversen. She was a co-founder and former chairwoman of Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE). EPE turned Graceland into one of the top tourist attractions in the United States. Priscilla co-starred with Leslie Nielsen in the three successful Naked Gun films and played the role of Jenna Wade on the long-running television series Dallas.
How did Elvis Presley meet his wife?
Elvis Presley met his ex-wife, Priscilla Presley on September 13, 1959, at a party at his rented home in Bad Nauheim, Germany. At that time Elvis was serving in the U.S. Army. Priscilla was at the age of 14 years at the time whereas Elvis was 24 years old. Priscilla’s parents got upset because she returned home late after meeting with Elvis.
Priscilla’s parents forbid her from seeing Elvis again but later they dissolved their views of Elvis after he visited them. Their wedding ceremony was arranged by Parker to maximize publicity as the couple married on May 1, 1967, at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.
Their wedding ceremony was attended by a few guests and ended in eight minutes, followed by a quick press conference attended by friends, family, and business associates from MGM, RCA, and the William Morris Agency. Elvis and Priscilla enjoyed their honeymoon in Palm Springs after they flew there by private jet.
Priscilla got pregnant and considered an abortion. She spoke to her then-husband Elvis about it and they decided not to. They gave birth to their only child named, Lisa Marie, born exactly nine months after their wedding, on February 1, 1968. After a back and forth in their relationship, Elvis and Priscilla separated on February 23, 1972, and filed for legal separation on July 26.
