Nigerian singer, Akinfenwa Donus known as Joeboy has finally spoken about his “Alcohol” song that has gone viral.
Netizens after the release of the “Alcohol” song have enjoyed the song as they have created a lot of video here and there with the song. Especially on the popular social media,TikTok, series of videos have been made where people are seen drinking alcohol and pouring it on their bodies as the song plays.
The fast rising singer has debunked claims that his ‘Alcohol’ is to promote alcoholism.
Speaking in an interview with Genius,Joeboy mentioned that he is not encouraging alcoholism in any way.
According to him he understand that people need breaks in life and trying to run away from one’s problems won’t fix them at the end of the day.
He said, “Being tipsy inspired ‘Alcohol’. There are different challenges in life; it never ends. There is always something one needs to fix or solve. I am not encouraging alcoholism in any way but I understand that people need breaks but trying to run away from one’s problems won’t fix them at the end of the day.”
He continued,“I was a bit nervous before the song was released because I was not sure if people were going to accept it. It is totally different from what I normally do. The reception has been amazing so far. It is my biggest charting song since the beginning of my career.”
