Ingrid Berry is the daughter of the late singer, songwriter, and guitarist Chuck Berry. Ingrid’s father Chuck Berry was a pioneer of rock and roll, and was nicknamed the “Father of Rock and Roll”. He was known for songs like “Maybellene” (1955), “Roll Over Beethoven” (1956), “Rock and Roll Music” (1957), and “Johnny B. Goode” (1958). He was among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on its opening in 1986.

Ingrid’s parents were married for 69 years. They got married on October 28, 1948. Her father Chuck Berry took various jobs in St. Louis. At a point, he worked briefly as a factory worker at two automobile assembly plants and as a janitor in the apartment building where he and his wife lived.
Ingrid Berry’s father Chuck Berry later received training as a beautician at the Poro College of Cosmetology, founded by Annie Turnbo Malone. He was able to purchase a “small three-room brick cottage with a bath” on Whittier Street, which is now listed as the Chuck Berry House on the National Register of Historic Places.
Chuck Berry also worked with local bands in clubs in St. Louis to make extra money. He rose to become a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Ingrid Berry’s grandparents are Henry William Berry (1895–1987), a contractor and deacon, and Martha Bell (Banks) (1894–1980) a certified public school principal.

Ingrid Berry is a musical artist. She followed in her father’s footsteps into the music business. She plays harmonica and is part of her father’s Blueberry Hill backing band. Ingrid has been on several of her father’s albums and she has been a band member since the early ’70s.
Ingrid Berry has proven to be a very talented woman. Her father Chuck Berry created the family song “Darling” alongside his beloved daughter Ingrid, featuring old family pictures as the video. The duet was from Chuck’s studio album “Chuck.”
