Jennifer Eddy is the daughter of Jessi Colter and Duane Eddy. Jennifer Eddy’s mother Colter is a country singer who is best known for her collaborations with her husband, country musician Waylon Jennings, and for her 1975 crossover hit “I’m Not Lisa”. She is one of the few female artists to spring out from the mid-1970s “outlaw country” movement. Her father Eddy is a rock and roll guitarist.  He had a string of hit records in the late 1950s and early 1960s which were noted for their characteristically “twangy” sound. He had sold 12 million records by 1963.

Jennifer Eddy is the daughter of Jessi Colter and Duane Eddy. Her parents first met in Phoenix. Her father produced her mother’s first record, and she toured with him. After years of playing music together, they walked down the aisle in 1961 in Las Vegas, settling in Los Angeles. Colter pursued a career as a songwriter under her married name, Mirriam Eddy. In 1968, Eddy and Colter separated, divorcing later that year. Colter moved back to Arizona with her daughter Jennifer.

A year later, Colter met Waylon Jennings, who became her husband and also her partner in the industry. Together, they enjoyed success after success both in their relationship and as country music artists. With Jessi Colter and Waylon Jennings’s talent combined, the couple were unstoppable. The duo were dubbed the genre’s “it” couple. They earned back-to-back successful country hits and albums, and became two of the most prominent figures in the genre. 

Talking to Country Rebel about her mother’s marriage to Waylon Jennings, she said– “Well I’m sure glad mom married Waylon because he was one of the best stepdads I think he could have” Jennifer Eddy then proceeded to sing her mother’s hit song “I am not Lisa” while playing the piano.

Jenni Eddy Jennings is also a talented singer and musician like her mother, father, and stepfather. Waylon Jennings’ grandson Whey Jennings and Jenni showed off their overflowing musical talent with their breathtaking rendition of “Storms Never Last.”

The song was written by Jessi Colter and was the first single off of her 1981 duet album with her late husband Waylon Jennings entitled ‘Leather and Lace.’ It has been covered by various artists though this one might be the most memorable to fans, if not the best. 

Jennifer Eddy played the piano while her step-nephew Whey stood beside her, and then the two dueted and harmonized together, creating a heavenly melody. Whey’s deep-rooted voice definitely complimented Jenni’s golden pipes she inherited from her mom.

Jennifer Eddy is a mother and grandmother. She is the mother of Struggle Jennings. Her son is an American country rapper from Nashville, Tennessee. He was one of the original members of Yelawolf’s Slumerican label roster along with Bubba Sparxxx.

From 2017 to 2018, Struggle collaborated with longtime friend and rapper JellyRoll on a trilogy of Waylon & Willie albums, the title of which pays homage to Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. The mother and son created their Spiritual Warfare EP towards the end of 2018.

On January 15, 2019, Struggle and his oldest daughter, Jenni’s granddaughter singer Brianna Harness, released a collaborative EP entitled Sunny Days which snagged the #3 spot on Billboard Blues Albums charts. Though Jenni Eddy Jennings has not made it huge in the music scene like her mother and father, she has left a mark in her own way. Her father Duane Eddy is now married to Deed Abbate.
