He is the son of Donna Joan (née Shaffer) and actor Alan Roger Ackles. His father is known for appearing in films such as “Ruby”, “Steele’s Law”, and “Hexed” and in episodes of TV series including “Dallas”, “Walker, Texas Ranger”, “The Good Guys”, “Supernatural”, and “Dallas”.
