Kerri Browitt Caviezel: Inside The Life Of Jim Caviezel’s Wife

Kerri Browitt Caviezel is the wife of American actor Jim Caviezel. Kerri’s husband Jim Caviezel is one of the finest actors in the film industry. He is known for portraying Jesus in The Passion of the Christ (2004), Tim Ballard in Sound of Freedom (2023), and starred as John Reese on the CBS series Person of Interest (2011–2016).

Kerri Browitt Caviezel is the woman who is married to actor Jim Caviezel. Kerri is the daughter of David James Browitt and Jean Vandetta/Vendetta. After Kerri graduated from WWU, she taught junior high English and served as an assistant Girls’ Basketball Coach at Mount Baker Junior-Senior High School for three years. She accepted the head coaching position at her alma mater, Cle Elum-Roslyn High School where in her first year as head coach, the Warriors finished second at the Class 1A state tournament.

As a devout Catholic, Kerri Browitt Caviezel worked at the Pregnancy Counseling Center in Mission Hills, California, for 17 years. There she shared her pro-life views and became a well-known speaker on the sanctity of life. Her pro-life work, she said, “is the bedrock of what we believe.” According to her, “the simple brilliance of the Eucharist brings us together.”

Kerri has taken her pro-life message to events around the world, including appearances on “Life on the Rock” on EWTN, to discuss crisis pregnancy and adoption. Unfortunately, Kerri’s father David James Browitt passed away on April 26, 2013, of complications related to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Kerri Browitt Caviezel met Jim Caviezel in the year 1993 through a blind date. The two soon began dating and decided to become husband and wife. They got married on July 20, 1996, in the presence of their friends and family at Immaculate Conception Church in Washington. They have remained married ever since. They do not have any biological children.

Kerri Browitt Caviezel and her husband Jim Caviezel have adopted three children with cancer from China. Speaking of the children, Jim said in an interview: “They all were abandoned and unwanted. Two of them had brain cancer. The third one had sarcoma. My wife said it doesn’t matter whether children are wanted or not. They are people, just like we.”

The couple’s adopted children are Lyn Elizabeth Caviezel, David Caviezel, and Bo Caviezel. Bo and Lyn had a brain tumor at the time of birth while David had high-stage sarcoma on his leg. Fortunately, both Bo and Lyn’s brain tumors were benign and successfully removed, and David’s leg has been saved too. Kerri and Jim have been married for more than 20 years. They are still enjoying a blissful married life.
