Despite the fact that the men she was hanging out with were all very attractive, the actress admitted that Clark Gable, her co-star in “Teacher’s Pet” was always her biggest crush.

Jack Newman was Mamie Van Doren’s first husband

Van Doren’s first marriage was to Jack Newman. Newman was a sportswear manufacturer. The two lovers eloped to Santa Barbara, California in 1949 when she was just 17 years old. Their marriage ended that same year because of his abusive nature. According to reports, after their honeymoon in San Francisco, he tries to throw her off the balcony. Van Doren and Jack Newman were married for just 4 months before they called it a quit.

Mamie Van Doren and Ray Anthony had her only son

Ray Anthony is the second man the blonde bombshell got married to. Anthony and Van Doren got married in 1955. They had one son, Perry Ray Anthony, the following year. The couple divorced in 1961 after she filed for a divorce citing “cruelty”. A judge awarded Mamie custody of her son, 300 dollars in child support one dollar token alimony per reports.

Van Doren’s second husband Ray Anthony is a bandleader, trumpeter, songwriter, and former actor. He is the last surviving member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra as of 2023. The Ray Anthony Orchestra gained popularity in the early 1950s with “The Bunny Hop”, “Hokey Pokey”, and the theme from Dragnet. Anthony had a No. 2 chart hit with a recording of the tune “At Last” in 1952. Anthony was considered one of the most modern big band leaders.

After their marriage came to an end, Mamie Van Doren got into a highly publicized, on-again off-again engagement to baseball player Bo Belinsky ended in 1964, she married baseball player Lee Meyers two years later. They divorced in 1968. The reason behind their divorce was not made public.

Ross McClintock is Mamie Van Doren’s fourth husband

A few years after she divorced Lee Meyers, Van Doren got married to Ross McClintock. The former lovers met while she was working on President Nixon’s re-election campaign. They tied the knot in 1972, however, the marriage was annulled in 1973. Their 37-day union was annulled by an Orange County Superior Court judge.

Ross McClintock was a former senior vice president and director of Fluor Corp. He was a founding partner of Western Offshore Drilling and Exploration in 1956 and became president of the company in 1963. After Fluor acquired Western Offshore in 1969, he was named president of Fluor Drilling Services Inc. Ross McClintock passed away at the age of 64 in 1985.

Since 1979, Van Doren has been married to her fifth husband, Thomas Dixon, a dentist, and an actor. Mamie Van Doren’s husband is nearly two decades her junior according to the LA Times. The actress never misses a chance to share photos of her husband on her social media.
