Marie Mandry was the second wife of Héctor Elizondo. The couple tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony in 1963 in the presence of their friends, families, and loved ones. Before Mandry, the actor was married to Marie Rivera. Elizondo and Rivera were the parents of one child- Rodd Elizondo. However, they ended their marriage just a year after they walked down the aisle. The actor said they got married because “it was the right thing to do.”

Elizondo was a father at 19. “It happened.” He dropped out of New York’s City College. “I had to get married. I had to take care of my boy. I had to go to work.”- He told the Los Angeles Times.
After divorcing his first wife, Héctor’s parents and sister helped him raise his son because he was in a better position to take care of the child than the mother. “I was a very responsible dad. That changed my life. From there on in, every move I made, I had to consider my son first. . . . That’s why I’m not intimidated by anything.” He told the Los Angeles Times.
That was when Héctor decided to marry for the second time just so that his son would have a complete family; unfortunately, the union did not last. Just a year after they exchanged their vows, Elizondo and Marie Mandry called their marriage a quit in 1964. The reason behind the marriage coming to an end has not been discussed by the actor.
Héctor’s son Rodd Elizondo was a preschool teacher in San Francisco and the father of a daughter, Juliet. It pains a parent to bury their children; this was the case for Héctor, whose son’s death was a huge blow to his family. Rodd, born in 1956, died on February 24, 2017, aged 61, and was survived by his daughter.
