Marie Musso is the daughter of Vido Musso, an American jazz saxophonist. Her father was popular for a period in the 1940s. He first played clarinet before switching to tenor. Vido formed a big band with Stan Kenton in 1935 but then he was discovered and became a bit of a name playing with Benny Goodman & His Orchestra (1936-1937). As a leader, Marie’s father recorded for Savoy (1946), Trilon (1947), Arco, Fantasy (1952), RPM, Crown, and Modern. Her father passed away in 1982 at the age of 68.
She is the second woman her husband married
Musso is not the first woman Greene married. Before her, Greene was married to Nalani Kele from 1972 to 1982. After his marriage came to an end, Greene called up an old friend of 30 years, Marie Musso, who is a tall, elegantly attractive woman who had been drawn to Greene years back but frightened and repelled by his drinking Los Angeles Times reported. “I said, ‘I really need you, Marie,’ ” Greene told the outlet. “He was searching for me,” she also said.

Marie Musso and Shecky Greene got married in 1985 by that time Greene’s panic attacks were literally paralyzing him but Marie was his rock. They don’t have any children. The husband and wife have resided in Beverly Hills, California; Palm Springs, California; Las Vegas, Nevada.
Greene had planned to become a gym Instructor
Musso’s husband had planned to become a gym Instructor before he found his passion in Comedy. He instead started his comedy career at the Prevue Lounge in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he worked for six years. He went on to showrooms in Miami, Chicago, and Reno/Lake Tahoe before an agent persuaded him to move to Las Vegas and build a career there.

Her husband later owned several nightclubs over the years and in different cities, including New Orleans. Offstage, Greene’s main passion was Thoroughbred racing. The legendary comedian’s career had obstacles due to depression and bipolar disorder, stage fright, gambling, panic attacks and drug abuse, and alcoholism. “It’s been a curse living to 95.”- he revealed, but Musso was the comedian’s rock. “we never lost our sense of humor,” Musso told Chicago suntimes.
By 1987, a few years after they got married “he was not working,” Shecky Greene’s wife, Marie Musso told Los Angeles Times reported. “We moved to Brentwood. He took to his bed, where he’d cry and shake. To get him to walk at all was a big effort. We went through six or seven therapists. There were times when I wanted to kill him. But mental illness is hard to detect. It’s not like a broken leg. But we never lost our sense of humor. As a wife going through all this, I said, ‘I’m not going to give up.”

“Not giving up on yourself is the most important thing,” Shecky Greene revealed to Chicago suntimes “Surround yourself with people who like you, who understand you. Anybody who has an adverse effect on you, get rid of them. Look for people who are gentle and kind. There are a lot of those.” Aside from all that, Marie Musso and her husband led “humanitarian efforts” to create St. Jude’s Ranch, a shelter for indigent and neglected children in Boulder City, Nevada.
