Yul Brynner is one of the first Russian-American actors who was honored with a ceremony to put his handprints in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood in 1956 and also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960.

He published the books “Yul: The Man Who Would Be King” and “Empire and Odyssey” by his son, Yul “Rock” Brynner, which revealed the details of his early life. He debuted in New York as Fabian in “Twelfth Night” (billed as Youl Bryner).

He died on October 10, 1985, at New York Hospital at the age of 65 years. He was cremated and his ashes were buried in a remote part of France, on the grounds of the Abbey of Saint-Michel de Bois Aubry, closer to Luzé. He is still one of the favorite stars of his time.
