Nerine Kidd was born on 13 July 1959, in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, USA to Warren Kidd Sr and June Kidd. She is not the only child of her parents. Her siblings are Howard Kidd, Warren Kidd Jr, and Robert Kidd. She hasn’t revealed much about her life growing up.
Nerine Kidd was a model and actress. She modeled for J. Michael Bloom and was represented by L.A. Talent. As an actress, she is known for Umetni raj (1990) and A Twist in the Tale (1999). She appeared in Artificial Paradise. She became known as Nerine Kidd Shatner after she got married to William Shatner.
Nerine Kidd also became the third wife of William Shatner. They officially got married on November 15, 1997. During their beautiful wedding ceremony, Leonard Nimoy was the best man. They were married until William came home to find Nerine dead. They were married for almost two years.
After Nerine Kidd’s death, her widowed husband William Shatner married a fourth wife Elizabeth Anderson Martin, a professional horse trainer. William and Elizabeth got married on February 13, 2001, but their marriage ended after almost two decades of being a couple.

What Happened To William Shatner’s Wife?
Nerine Kidd passed away on August 9, 1999, at age 40. Her body was discovered lying lifeless at the bottom of their home’s backyard swimming pool. She was alone at their Studio City estate but later, she was found dead by her husband William Shatner after he returned home.
An autopsy was conducted and it revealed her blood contained both alcohol and diazepam. Nerine Kidd had been drinking and taking some pills. The cause of her death was cited as accidental drowning. The Los Angeles Police Department, agreeing that there wasn’t any evidence of foul play, closed its file on the case.
William Shatner spoke to the press shortly after his wife’s death. William made it known that his wife Nerine Kidd “meant everything” to him and described her as his “beautiful soulmate”. He encouraged others to support Friendly House, a non-profit organization.

Friendly House assists women to rebuild their lives after trying to free themselves from alcoholism or other forms of drug addiction. William made it known that Leonard Nimoy warned him about his wife Nerine’s addiction. He tried to help her at a point. William revealed:
‘Leonard Nimoy’s personal experience of alcoholism now came to play a central role in my life and it helped us bond together in a way I never could have imagined in the early days of Star Trek. After Nerine and I had been to dinner with Leonard and Susan Nimoy one evening, Leonard called and said:
“Bill, you know she’s an alcoholic?” I said I did. I married Nerine in 1997, against the advice of many and my own good sense. But I thought she would give up alcohol for me. We had a celebration in Pasadena, and Leonard was my best man. I woke up about eight o’clock the next morning and Nerine was drunk.

She was in rehab for 30 days three different times. Twice she almost drank herself to death. Leonard (sober many years) took Nerine to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, but she did not want to quit. However, Nerine Kidd’s tragic death is memorialized in a song on her husband’s 2004 album Has Been. She was cremated and her ashes were scattered at Belle Reve Farm in Los Angeles, California.
