Newly Elected President Of Chad Shot Dead By Rebels

The newly elected of Chad, President Idriss Deby, has been killed, sustained injuries on the frontline while defending the nation from rebels.

The President, Idriss Deby had won his 6th term as the president of Chad with 79.32 percent of the votes cast in April 11’s election, according to provisional results from the electoral commission on Monday.

According to reports, the President has been ordering his army to battle the rebels who launched a major incursion into the north of the country since the weekend and even on election day.

The campaign manager of the president revealed that the president postponed his victory speech to the nation and visited the Chadian soldiers battling rebels in the north of the country.

The army mentioned that a military council led by the late president’s 37-year-old son Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, a four-star general, would replace him.
