His mother is a former actress, singer, and animal rights activist while his father is an actor in both film and the theater, a film producer, and an artist in painting and ceramics.
Nicolas-Jacques Charrier is the only child of his parents. His father Jacques has other kids from his other marriages. Nicolas is the half-brother of Sophie Charrier, Marie Charrier, and Rosalie Charrier. Nicolas’ stepmother is Japanese artist Makiko Kumano, who is currently married to his father Jacques.

Growing up, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier had a strained relationship with his mother Brigitte Bardot. This led to Nicolas not even inviting his mother to his wedding. Nicolas was desired only by his father Jacques Charrier. He grew up with his father and did not maintain close contact with his mother until his adulthood.
