His mother is a former actress, singer, and animal rights activist while his father is an actor in both film and the theater, a film producer, and an artist in painting and ceramics.

Nicolas-Jacques Charrier is the only child of his parents. His father Jacques has other kids from his other marriages. Nicolas is the half-brother of Sophie Charrier, Marie Charrier, and Rosalie Charrier. Nicolas’ stepmother is Japanese artist Makiko Kumano, who is currently married to his father Jacques.

Nicolas-Jacques Charrier’s stepfather is called Bernard d’Ormale. Bernard is a former adviser to Jean-Marie Le Pen, a French far-right politician. Bernard is the fourth and current husband of Nicolas’ mother Brigitte Bardot. Nicolas’ aunty is French actress and writer Mijanou Bardot.

Relationship With Mother

Growing up, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier had a strained relationship with his mother Brigitte Bardot. This led to Nicolas not even inviting his mother to his wedding. Nicolas was desired only by his father Jacques Charrier. He grew up with his father and did not maintain close contact with his mother until his adulthood.

Nicolas’ parents Brigitte Bardot and Jacques Charrier were married on 18 June 1959 but they divorced in 1962. After Brigitte divorced Jacques she didn’t have custody of Nicolas and didn’t want to see him grow up. Nicolas was raised in the Charrier family.

Brigitte Bardot never had the maternal instinct. She said: “I did not want to give birth to an additional human being. I think there are too many on Earth. And they scare me.” After Brigitte’s book Initialed BB was released in 1996, Nicolas and his father Jacques complained.

They met in court and the father and son complained that the book violated their privacy and infringed on their intrauterine intimacy. Brigitte had to pay 150,000 francs to her ex-husband Jacques and 100,000 francs to her son, Nicholas.

However, Nicholas and his mother Brigitte have worked things out. The mother and son now regularly call themselves. At times Nicholas visits his mother with his wife and children. They currently have a good relationship.
