Ghanian actress Akuapem poloo was sentenced by the Accra Circuit Court and given 90 days in prison over a birthday shoot photo(Nude photo) shared on social media last year.
Akuapem poloo was charged for publication of obscene material and domestic violence.
According to Christina Cann, Akuapem Poloo’s sentencing needs to serve as a deterrent to everyone who contaminates the social media landscape in the name of freedom of expression. She stressed the fact that people need to be very cautious about the things they share on social media because when they are brought before the court, there would be found wanting.
Akuapem Poloo’s jail term has attracted a lot of attention in Ghana and other countries.
