Outbreak of H1N1 and hCoVs hit Akuse Methodist SHS

Akuse Methodist Senior High Technical School located in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region has recorded a human coronavirus (hCoVs) and Swine flu (H1N1) case.

The human coronaviruses (hCoVs) are members of the family Coronaviridae, which enveloped RNA viruses that affect humans, mammals and birds, causing both acute and chronic illnesses.

There is an outbreak of a human coronavirus (hCoVs) and Swine flu (H1N1) hits the Akuse Methodist School.

According to news report from Starr News the cases were recorded last week.
13 students tested positive for H1N1 out of 34 samples taken for testing while 19 tested positive for hCoVs.

The affected students have been quarantined at the sickbay of the school which is now congested.
