After a long period of protest and hitting the streets, the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, finally decided to go to the Court and has submitted their petition to the supreme court. In this petition, they are seeking redress as the aggrieved party in the 2020 presidential elections.
In a long document submitted earlier today 28 December 2020, The petitioner, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, asks the supreme court to render the declaration made by 1st Respondent, Electoral Commission, null and void. Once again He is asking the Supreme court to place an injunction on the 2nd respondent, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, from parading himself as the president-elect as per Madam Jean Mensa’s declaration.

In relief (F), that is where the fatal error occurred. The petitioner, John Dramani Mahama is requesting the supreme court, to direct the 1st respondent who is Electoral Commission to organize another election between the petitioner (John Mahama) and the 1st respondent who is Electoral Commission. This may probably be a typing error that had escaped the eyes of the NDC legal team.
