A pregnant final-year student while writing her West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) Exams delivered a baby.
She is a student of the Gushegu Senior High School (SHS) in the Northern Region .
She delivered a baby boy on Monday morning, September 13, 2021 while writing her English Language paper but returned to the school soon after to continue with the examination.
During the ongoing WASSCE Examination,she was in labour around 10:am.The student was taken to the Gushegu Municipal Hospital.
A tutor of the school confirmed the incident to Graphic Online.
According to the tutor the student was in labour around 10:am when she was writing her English Language paper.
She was assisted by one of the female students to deliver after which the mother and baby were sent to the Gushegu hospital for medical attention.
The tutor said this was the first time the school has recorded such an incident during the WASSCE.
He said that the student returned to continue with the exams that ended around 11:30 am and has since returned to the hospital.
The student and her newborn child are in stable condition and are due to be discharged soon.
