Reggae legend, Neville Livingston known as Bunny Wailer has been reported dead.
According to reports the reggae icon died on tuesday at the age of 73.
Bunny Wailer was the founding member of the original Wailers trio with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh .
Bunny, died at the Medical Associates Hospital in Kingston according to his manager, Maxine Stowe.
The Jamaican government confirmed his death but the cause of his death has not been given.
However, it was noted that he was dealing with serious medical issues since suffering his second stroke in 2020.
The culture ministry stated that since December,Bunny Wailer had been hospitalized.
After Bob Marley died of cancer in 1981, and Peter Tosh was also murdered in 1987,Bunny Wailer was the last surviving original member of the Wailers.
The reggae icon won three Grammys during his career and in 2017 he was awarded Jamaica’s Order of Merit.
The Culture Minister, Olivia Grange on Confirming the news mentioned that,
“We remain grateful for the role that Bunny Wailer played in the development and popularity of Reggae music across the world.
We remember with great pride how Bunny, Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, took Reggae music to the four corners of the earth.”
