What Happened To Ruby Fleetwood?

In the year 2008, Mick Fleetwood’s daughter, Ruby Fleetwood was six years old when she reportedly almost drowned after she was displaying her gymnastic skills and doing cartwheels by the family pool, hit her head, and fell into the water at their Los Angeles home. After an ambulance arrived at the scene, she was revived by paramedics, before being rushed to the hospital. Her father and family released a statement about Ruby‘s accident:

According to the statement, Ruby “was doing somersaults in the pool, became disoriented, and must have swallowed a high quantity of water,” not doing cartwheels around the pool. Dr. Keith Kimble, attending staff at the Cedars-Sinai Pediatric Intensive Care Unit where Ruby was held, stated that she was “the victim of an accident that is potentially extremely serious, but she is doing quite well and the medical staff here at Cedars is optimistic that she will make a full recovery.”

“We would like to thank everyone at Cedars-Sinai for their excellent care,” Mick Fleetwood said. “Their wonderful bedside manner was second to none and helped us tremendously throughout this entire ordeal. We want to thank them for everything from the bottom of our hearts.” Ruby Fleetwood was able to fully recover and was discharged from the hospital.

Ruby’s mother Lynn Frankel said: “The doctors at Cedars are stunned by our little fighter. Based on the condition Ruby was in when she arrived at the hospital 12 days ago, none of them expected her to have come this far in such a short time. She has blown them away with her strength and her will to survive.” Lynn shared that Ruby doing well. “Her smile is bright, her eyes sparkle and her sense of humor is funnier than ever before.”

Ruby’s famous father Mick Fleetwood has also had a drowning experience himself. Mick has shared that, he was close to drowning. “I’m not sure how or why I got into water too deep for my abilities, but I was pulled out by a man in a flowing blue cloak and when I looked up at him I thought he was a magician,” Mick recalled in his autobiography, “Play On”.
