Sarah Cannon’s father Gary Chapman just like her mother is a Christian singer and songwriter. Aside from that she is also a former television talk show host. Gary was the host of the weekly syndicated program CCM Countdown.Billboard. He was also the host of the evening talk show, Prime Time Country from 1996 to 1999.
In April 1996, the Singer was crowned the Male Vocalist of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards. In that same year, he released his Album Shelter which received a 1997 Grammy nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album. Sarah Cannon Chapman’s parents divorced when she was seven
Sarah Chapman’s parents called their marriage a quit when she was just 7. In March 1999 her mother filed for divorce from her father citing “irreconcilable differences” after 17 years together. The divorce process was finalized in June 1999 and the couple went their separate ways. Her mother is now married to country singer-songwriter Vince Gill. Their marriage produced her stepsister Corrina.
Discussing her marriage with CCM Magazine in 1999, the singer explained- “I didn’t get a divorce because ‘I had a great marriage and then along came Vince Gill.’ Gary and I had a rocky road from day one. I think what was so hard—and this is (what) one of our counselors said—sometimes an innocent party can come into a situation, and they’re like a big spotlight. What they do is reveal, by comparison, the painful dynamics that are already in existence.“
Sarah Cannon Chapman’s father Gary is on his second marriage after the divorce. He got married to Jennifer Pittman in July 2000 and their marriage ended 7 years later in 2007. On December 22, 2008, he got married again to Cassie Piersol. The couple adopted a baby girl, Eva, in March 2014.
