Sidney Conroy is the ex-wife of Huey Lewis. Conroy’s ex-husband, Lewis is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. Lewis sings lead and plays harmonica for his band, Huey Lewis and the News, in addition to writing or co-writing many of the band’s songs. The band is known for their third, and best-selling, album Sports, and their contribution to the soundtrack of the 1985 feature film Back to the Future. Lewis previously played with the band Clover from 1972 to 1979.

How did Huey Lewis and his ex-wife meet? Conroy was Lewis’ manager’s secretary. The singer told Jill Kramer in a 2001 interview- “…my wife, Sidney was the secretary at the time. Now she’s the mother of my 16- and 17-year-old kids.” The two former love birds tied the knot in 1983 in Hawaii. They got married in a beautiful wedding ceremony in the presence of friends, family, and loved ones.

Their marriage was blessed with two children. They have a daughter, Kelly Lewis, and a son, Austin Lewis. Huey Lewis’s kids were babies when he was at the peak of his career and this was hard on his ex-wife Sidney Conroy and his children- Kelly Lewis and Austin Lewis.

 “I want to keep our family life private,” Sidney Conroy told Rollingstone. “It’s hard to do. One night Huey was putting Kelly to bed, and someone drove by and yelled, ‘I love you, Huey.’ That’s not what we want. We want to keep things normal for our kids.”

The singer also told Jill Kramer– “I was gone a lot then. And I worried about it. It was mainly hard on my wife, because she had to take care of everything. My three-year-old daughter and my one-year-old son didn’t miss me much. The fathering didn’t come into play until the late ‘80s, early ‘90s, when we started to slow down. That was absolutely a factor in our slowing down. We all have families.“

Their marriage however didn’t last forever as things got sour along the line. They called their marriage a quit in 1990. They were married for 6 years before they called it a quit. Though the couple ended their marriage, they are still pals. Lewis told Kingdom.golf. Both couples have been living a private life after their divorce.

In April 2018, Sidney Conroy’s husband, Lewis revealed that he was suffering from hearing loss as a result of Ménière’s disease, and canceled all upcoming tour dates. He revealed in an interview how his family especially his children have been of so much help to him in his difficult time. He said-

“To me, the power of love is family. Family, family family. I have two wonderful children who have supported me and helped me through this illness [in 2018 Lewis was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease which causes hearing loss, meaning he can no longer sing or even listen to music]. My son has become my best friend. He has turned into a wonderful person who looks after his father. And I need some looking after. So I’m very pleased.“
