What Happened To Stan Dwight’s Father?

Stan Dwight’s father Stanley Dwight died on December 1991, in Cheshire, United Kingdom, at age 66, after years of ill health. His father Stanley and his half-brother Elton didn’t have a good father-and-son relationship. The two were not able to reconcile and Stanley died.

Elton John did not attend his father’s funeral. His father Stanley is said to have not been supportive of Elton’s career. He preferred that Elton consider a career such as banking instead of music. Stanley divorced Elton’s mother Sheila Eileen and remarried Stan’s mother Edna.
