Susan Jordan Duggan is a former actress and English teacher. She worked briefly as an assistant casting director and she appeared in a television commercial. She is known for Heal Your Self (2011). She fell in love with Harry Hyra, a math teacher. They got married but in 1976, they got separated due to unknown reasons.

There was news that Susan Jordan Duggan and her daughter Meg Ryan had some feud going on between themselves. According to reports, Susan was nowhere to be found during her daughter Meg Ryan’s wedding to American actor Dennis Quaid.

Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid got married in a ceremony on February 14, 1991. Meg Ryan cut ties with her mother, Susan although her father, Harry Hyra, said that they were on relative speaking terms. “I have a talking relationship with my daughter that I fostered for years, that I have worked hard to mend”.

The mother-daughter issues reportedly started after Susan Jordan Duggan decided to follow her dreams as an actress. Her daughter Meg Ryan once mentioned in her interviews that her mother abandoned her kids to fulfill her own dreams.

According to Susan Jordan Duggan, she decided to take the job as an assistant to a casting director for Ryan, According to New York Post. “One of the main reasons I took that job was so I could meet all the agents and introduce them to Peggy.”

Peggy is the nickname of Meg Ryan. “I tried out once for a part in a TV commercial to help pay for basic expenses that my job couldn’t cover”, Susan said. Susan and Meg Ryan reportedly argued over Meg’s relationship with Dennis Quaid.

But Susan thinks that the whole ordeal was “a very handy thing for her to do, to present herself as a savior of this troubled soul who was a drug addict” because “everyone knows Meg as this wonderful persona, the saving angel for poor Dennis.”

Susan continued, “How would it have looked if it came out that I had noticed this first? She had to discredit me to preserve her image.” Susan was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1979 and she was disappointed when Meg Ryan didn’t visit her.

Susan said, “… Every member of my family came to see me in the hospital after my mastectomy except for Peggy. She wouldn’t take one day off from college to come to see me. She didn’t even call. She said she just didn’t feel comfortable”.

However, Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid announced their separation in June 2000, and their divorce was finalized in July 2001. They have a son called Jack Quaid, an American actor. Meg Ryan also has an adopted daughter called Daisy True Ryan.
