He may have had other siblings. His father was English from Gloucestershire. His mother was also English but she was from Wiltshire.

Thomas Woodward died on 5 October 1981, at the age of 71, in Los Angeles, California, USA. He reportedly died from Pneumoconiosis. His beloved wife Freda Jones died on 7 February 2003, at age 88.
