Who is Pat Robertso’s son Tim?

Tim Robertson is the first child of Pat Robertson and his late wife Adelia Elmer Robertson aka Dede Robertson. He has three other siblings-  Gordon P. Robertson, Elizabeth Faith Robertson, and Anne Carter Robertson. Tim Robertson, as said earlier is the eldest of the Pat Robertson children, took over the reins of his father’s CBN in the late ’80s when the famous broadcaster decided to run a presidential campaign. At the time, Tim was also thrust into the spotlight after some controversy surrounding his parents’ wedding date and his birth.

For years, Tim’s parents had celebrated their wedding anniversary on March 22. However, the press unearthed documents that revealed the actual marriage took place on August 27, which meant their eldest child Tim was conceived out of wedlock. “I frankly am astounded that the Washington Post would do what they did on such information and scandalize somebody,” Pat said per Chicagotribune‘s report and termed the article ”character assassination”.

According to theNewyorktimes‘ report, the chief spokeswoman for Pat Robertson acknowledged that Tim’s parents were married more than five months after the date that they publicly celebrate as their wedding day and that their first child was born 10 weeks after they were married. The spokeswoman, Constance Snapp revealed this in a telephone interview according to the outlet.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Tim Robertson’s father was asked when he was married. The reply, according to the Post, was: ”We were married, we began, I’m trying to think, it was 33 years ago, March the 22d, we celebrate, my birthday.” Pat’s character was called into question because he was a Christian and a conservative figure. But he and Dede made it clear to the world that they were not ashamed of their past and had nothing to hide.

Talking about the scandal Tim Robertson also said – “I’ve had nothing but love from my parents, nothing but love from my mother and father, I was raised in a loving and caring home. I never felt deprived in any way.“

Tim Robertson appeared once on her father’s show alongside her younger sister as they recalled how it was growing up within a religious household in the early days of CBN. He said -“brought back a lot of memories for me just because of you know the time I spent as of doing all this stuff I mean you know working I don’t think I helped build this one but I remember putting up insulation in the studio … so you I think I got paid 50 cents an hour or something and I’m up there getting the fiberglass insulation‘. He went on to say-“one of my great joys of course was being able to participate and run the family channel“

In 1997, Tim Robertson and his father sold their channel International Family Entertainment for 1.9 Billion to a subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp according to thevirginianPilot. The outlet also said Tim pocketed $95 million from the deal. The $35-a-share price the Robertsons negotiated with Murdoch’s Fox Kids Worldwide makes Tim Robertson’s 2.7 million-plus IFE shares worth more than $95 million. His father who also owned roughly 3.6 million shares of International Family, which he will sell to Fox Kids for $35 a share — netting him $126 million.

Tim Robertson is a father and husband

Tim Robertson is married to author and motivational speaker Lisa N. Robertson, and they have five children and ten grandchildren. Tim’s wife is a noted author and teacher with more than thirty years of experience in leading women’s Bible studies.

Tim’s parents Pat Robertson and  Adelia Elmer Robertson were married for more than 6 decades. They first meet when they were both students at Yale University. His mother narrated how she was running away from an annoying law student (Pat) and went to sit at the refreshment table where she attempted to look busy.

Unfortunately, Dede got too close to the candles on the table, and her hair caught on fire. Fortunately for her, the annoying Law student was still around, Pat rushed over and put out the fire with his bare hands.  “He put the fire out in my hair, but started a fire in my heart,” Tim Robertson’s mother passed away in 2022 at the age of 94. Tim’s father Pat is 93 years old as of 2023.
