Who are Tony Bennett’s children?

Bennett is a father of 4 children- two sons and two daughters from two marriages. He first gained the “father” title in 1954 with the birth of his oldest son, D’Andrea “Danny” Bennett, with his first wife Patricia Beech. A year later, the couple welcomed their second child together, son Daegal “Dae” Bennett, in 1955, before they separated in 1965 and their divorce was finalized in 1971.

Tony took actress Sandra Grant to the alter the same year he divorced his first Beech in 1971; The couple had their first child- a daughter in Joanna Bennett in 1969 followed by his younger daughter Antonia Bennett in 1974. Grant and Bennett separated in 1979 but did not formally divorce until 2007.

Talking about his fatherhood experiences, the singer said in an interview with Forbes in 2016- “Personally, my four children and seven grandchildren are what make me proud,” he said of his greatest accomplishments. D’Andrea “Danny” Bennett is Tony’s manager

D’Andrea “Danny” Bennett, the singer’s first child was born on Feb. 3, 1954, and is 69 years old as of 2023. The New York Times credited Danny Bennett with reviving his father’s career after taking over as the manager in 1979 till he retired in 2021. The singer had called and asked his son to take over his business affairs. At that time, Tony had been struggling both personally and financially, owing $2 million in back taxes and the IRS was planning to seize his house.

Tony “overindulged” and was rushed to the hospital. “That was the day of reckoning. That is when he called me up. I think that was a desperate move,” Danny told the New York Times. Danny negotiated various deals including a new deal with the singer’s former label, Columbia, after they had dropped him in 1971. By 1990, Danny Bennett had managed to get his father’s IRS debt paid off.  “I don’t just handle a career, I manage a legacy,” Danny told Billboard in 2011.

Daegal “Dae” Bennett is a Grammys winner like his father

Tony Bennett’s second son, Daegal “Dae” Bennett was born in 1955. He is 68 years old as of 2023. Growing up with a musician dad had so much influence on Dae that he started playing Drums at the age of 9 and together with his brother and some friends, they formed a band- Quacky Duck and His Barnyard Friends.

Dae built the state-of-the-art Bennett Studios in 2001 which he closed down in 2011 and began working as a freelance producer, engineer, and mixer. While his father has 20 Grammys to his name, Dae Bennett also has 10 Grammys to his name. His Grammys awards include best traditional pop vocal album and best-engineered Recording for his father Tony Bennett and Songstress Lady Gaga’s album Love for Sale, which Dae produced, engineered, and mixed.

Joanna Bennett is an actress and a Stuntwoman

Joanna Bennett chooses a different career path even though it is also in the entertainment industry. Born in 1969, Joanna is 53 years old and was named after the musician’s 1964 hit “When Joanna Loved Me,”. Joanna has worked as a stunt double for huge franchises, playing body double for Amber Heard in “Aquaman” and Brie Larson in “Avengers: Endgame.”

She was an assistant stunt coordinator in the DC Entertainment production Stargirl per her fandom page and some of her latest works include being a stunt performer in Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. As a supportive daughter, she has been spotted at various events with her father including her father’s 80th birthday celebration in 2006 per PEOPLE, and at NBC’s Tony Bennett Celebrates 90: The Best Is Yet to Come event in 2016.

Antonia Bennett is a singer

Following closely in her father’s footsteps, Antonia Bennett, 49, is a singer. Her talents were even spotted by her dad at a very young age (Started singing with her father starting at the age of 4). In a 1985 interview with the Washington Post, Tony Bennett said- “This one here has so much talent,” he said of 11-year-old Antonia. “I know it sounds like a proud daddy speaking, but she is so bright, and she has all the creative elements. … She is a wonderful painter, she sings terrific. All my kids are happy and healthy and have talent, but this one here captures everybody.“

The songstress was featured on Tony’s album, A Swingin’ Christmas, in 2008, and released her own EP, Natural, in 2010. Tony Bennett’s daughter Antonia has also performed in opera houses, casinos, jazz clubs, and amphitheaters worldwide. According to The New York Times, Antonia Bennett’s voice “conjures echoes of Billie Holiday and Rickie Lee Jones, with a hint of Betty Boop” IMDB reported.

Tony Bennett is a grandfather

Aside from being the father of four children, Tony Bennett is also a grandfather of seven grandkids. Danny gave his father three grandchildren- two daughters, Kelsey and Rémy Bennett, who are both artists based in New York City advocating for social equality through Art, per W magazine. Danny’s third child was born in September 2017 with his girlfriend Hadley Spanier.

Dae Bennett also gave his father two grandchildren. Per a 2000, report by the New York Times Dae was married to a woman named Anita, with whom he had two children: sons Austin and Jared. Antonia and her husband Ronen Helmann also welcomed a daughter, Maya, in May 2016, giving the singer another grandkid. It is unclear if Joanna has any children but Tony Bennett revealed in an interview with Forbes that he has seven grandchildren.
