Top Six Nicknames Given To Nana Addo Dankwa By Ghanaians

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of Ghana is very known for his affability and moreover, someone who cherishes creating humor everywhere he finds himself.

Even though at his age he must have grown accustomed to trolls Ghanaians sometimes subject him to at almost all times.

After taking office in 2017, exactly four to five years ago, the president has been given nicknames for both positive as well as negative reasons some of which are elaborated below:

1. Nana Show Boy.

Contrary to some of Akufo-Addo’s nicknames, he has conferred the name “Show Boy” before winning the 2016 election. This resulted from a campaign speech where he promised to change Ghana when giving the bid.

“My aim is to create jobs in the city and across the country. People will laude me for that rather than changing the capital to my hometown. I will be nicknamed the ‘Show Boy’ for that. That is what I want to do”, he said.

2. King Promise.

For controversial people, they love calling the president King Promise with claims that his administration has not been able to fulfill some of his campaign promises prior to the 2016 elections. To them, there is no action in his government but words and that gave birth to the above name.

3. Nana Kalyppo.

Also before the 2016 elections, Mr. Akufo-Addo became a trending subject because of the KalyppoChallenge. As an opposition leader then, his picture surface online where he was sipping Kalyppo. However, this became a social media influence as most people took to purchasing the fruit juice, snapping themselves and posting online while sipping it.

4. Clearing Agent.

The president got this nickname as a result of the clearance of some of his appointees after power in the 2016 election, and mainly those who were reported to have been indulged in corruption related activities. And it emerged after he had cleared a few but not limited to: Maritime boss, Presidential Staffer, after allegations of corruption.

5. Nana Sack-Nation.

A name from the root word Sack which followed his ability to always dismiss friendly or suspend any of his appointees who misbehaves. For instance, the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) boss who was featured in an exposé christened “Contracts For Sale”

6. Billy
