Two pupils of Rev. Cobbah Yalley Junior High School at Newsite a suburb in the Effia-Kwesimintsim of the Western Region have been reportedly arrested by the police.
The two Junior High School pupils are in the grips of the Western Regional Police Command. The students assaulted their headmistress.
Kojo Acquah the Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) for Effia-Kwesiminstim Municipal Assembly (EKMA), during the assembly’s second ordinary meeting of the second session made this known.
According to the MCE, investigations have suggested that that the students assaulted the headmistress after she turned down a love proposal from one of the pupils.
The MCE revealed that the pupils are assisting the police in their investigation.
He noted that the initial report suggests the two pupils were under the influence of illicit drugs.
However, he advised that parents and guardians must be more responsible as he expressed worry over the increasing rate of drug peddling and its usage among school-going children and the youth in the municipality.
