Prof. Mike Ocquaye will not be the Speaker of the 8TH Parliament after his defeat to NDC’s Alban Bagbin at the inauguration of the 8th Parliament. yetserday

Even before his defeat, NDC’s General Secretary, General Mosquito said Ghana does not want a Speaker of Parliament who needs to be carried from his car all time. So he asked the MPs not to vote for him because he is too old and weak to perform the duties of a Speaker.

The old man was looking visibly weak when walking to his stick which goes a long way to confirm what Asiedu Nketia. Maybe its a good idea to let him go so that some more energetic can take over and propel the country forward.
