A political group that calls itself the Volta NPP Grassroots for Justice is set to demonstrate against President Nana Akufo Addo over the alleged reappointment of Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa as the Regional Minister of the Volta Region.
The president may be compelled to rescind any decision for the retention of Dr. Letsa for the second administration. Though the decision of this group seems to be too early, it is a timely action on their part to push an agenda that will prevent the president from naming Dr. Letsa as the minister for the Volta Region, which will satisfy the expectations of this group.
Volta NPP Grassroots for Justice had stated categorically that they would reject the reappointment of the former Regional minister to their area as thier are not ready to work with him.
The group released a letter on 20 January 2021, disclosing that they will be embarking on a demonstration to show their displeasure with the choice with the choice of appointment which they said to have learned of in the grapevine.
Their demonstration dubbed “Enough is Enough Demonstration” outlines the routes they will be taking and they are notifying the Police of their intended demonstration.
The intended demonstration is to take place on 25 January from the Metro Mass Yard to Sokode Lokoe through the Regional Police Headquarters to the Civic Center and finally to the NPP Regional office, where they will file their petition to the Regional Secretary to the party and the president.
