The MP for Adansi-Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti Region Of Ghana, Kobina Tahiru Hammond, prominently known as KT Hammond disagrees with reports that became an internet sensation about Carlos Ahenkorah who has also accepted and apologized for grabbed ballot papers during the election of speaker for Ghana’s eighth Parliament.
On Thursday, January 7, 2021, after the seventh Parliament was dissolved, there was the requirement for the House to choose a Speaker for the eighth Parliament. An exceptionally challenged between Professor Aaron Mike Quaye and Hon Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin saw the last arising successful.
Minutes before Alban Bagbin was affirmed as the Speaker of Parliament, the Tema West MP was seen grabbing ballot papers from a parliamentary authority and endeavored to fastener through the leave entryway of the chamber yet he was halted abruptly by Hon Muntaka.

KT Hammond responding to the viral video that has circulated around the internet, the MP said that the Parliament for Tema West Constituency Carlos Ahenkroh was just organizing the ballot papers for smooth tallying. He made this claim in an interview with Kofi TV
