Akusika Akuffo, a niece to President Nana Akufo-Addo has stirred controversy online after making comments on social media.
Aku Akuffo has virtually described graduates (certificates) for Ho Polytechnic (now Technical University) and by extension, schools in Ghana, as inferior. Aku Akuffo made the statement while reacting to criticisms of a made appointment by President Akufo-Addo.
Akufo-Addo recently named one Jake Bediako as the Presidential Coordinator for Youth Engagement and Strategy at the Office of the President.
The appointment which has been described by many people as ‘job for the boys’ saw a barrage of criticisms from Ghanaians.

It was while she was expressing her opinions on the matter that Aku Akuffo made what has been deemed by many as an insensitive remark. Sharing a series of thought in text on her Instagram stories, Aku Akuffo described the criticism of Jake Bediako’s appointment as hatred.
For her, the young man is more than qualified for the position which is being handed to him and must be celebrated rather. Pointing out that education is important, Aku Akuffo stated that those who got their certificates from Cambridge and Columbia universities should not be compared to those with certificates from Ho Poly.
