Zuri Kye Edwards is a music producer and Talent manager. He is also popular as the son of singer/actress, Patti LaBelle and her ex-husband, Armstead Edwards. He is not the only child of the singer- He has four adopted siblings. They are Stayce Holte, Dodd Stocker-Edwards, William Holte, and Stanley Stocker-Edwards. Around the time Zuri was born, the legendary singer and her ex-husband have two adopted children: Dodd Stocker Edwards and Stanley Edwards. The two were her deceased neighbor’s children. The other two William and Stayce are her sister’s children. She later adopted them after her sister, Jackie died.

Zuri Kye was attacked At The Airport

According to reports, the son of singer Patti LaBelle told Texas jurors that a man named Richard King punched him in the face at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas terminal after The man shouted a racial slur at his mother. The reports when on to say, Zuri Kye, testified that Richard King was “intoxicated, loud, obnoxious” and shouted racial epithets at his mother. Patti LaBelle’s son then told how King immediately hit him on the right side of his face.

LaBelle and her team were on their way to a gig in Louisiana while Richard King, a cadet on spring break, was also waiting to be picked up in the ride-share area. King alleged that Labelle’s entourage attacked him, causing a concussion, Labelle’s entourage stated that he had provoked the attack.

Video evidence showed he was on a cell phone prior to the attack and did not engage any of the members of Labelle’s group until after they assaulted him. King was suspended from the U.S. Military Academy. The cadet sued LaBelle and his bodyguard Holmes for assault, seeking $1 million in civil court. LaBelle filed a counter-suit. LaBelle’s bodyguard was acquitted of misdemeanor assault on November 12, 2013.
